HC Fribourg-Gottéron and their Canadian defenseman Alexandre Picard have agreed on a one-year contract extension. The 30-year-old will thus stay in Fribourg through the 2016-17 season.

As HC Fribourg-Gottéron writes in a press release, Alexandre Picard is supposed to stabilise their defense as an "important leader" also in the upcoming season. 

The Gatineau, Québec native arrived in Fribourg in summer 2015 and has suited up in 42 regular season games for the Dragons. Over the course of the season, he put up a total of eleven points (two goals, nine assists). (tme)
