In yesterday's pre-season game against the Islanders in Brooklyn, Damien Brunner scored his first points in his try-out with the New Jersey Devils by assisting the first two goals.
Devils' head coach Peter DeBoer on Damien Brunner's game: “He made a couple of great plays tonight. He’s got instant speed and it creates a lot of offense, backs teams off. I’ve been impressed with him.”
Brunners' line with Elias and Josefson combined for a total of two goals and three assists. “I thought the whole line was working pretty good”, Brunner said to journalists after the game (video below), and added: “It was easier for me to play. I was more awake than the first game, obviously.”
The 27yr-old Right Winger was definitely more comfortable in his second pre-season outing after playing jet lagged in his debut against the Islanders on Thursday (3-5 loss), where he left the ice with a -2 balance.
