If he did not get another chance in North America, Maxim Lapierre could imagine a return to Switzerland, as he tells the Journal de Montréal. Lapierre signed a tryout contract with the New York Rangers of the NHL in July.

"Switzerland is perfect for my family," adds the 31-year-old forward, who joined HC Lugano in January. First, however, he wants to concentrate on the Rangers' upcoming training camp. There, he hopes he can showcase his skills and earn another NHL contract.

During the 2015-16 season, Lapierre played his first term outside of North America. He left MODO of the SHL in January to continue the season in Lugano. For the Bianconeri, he played 21 games and scored four goals and five assists. (bsc)
