As the SC Rapperswil-Jona Lakers announce, they will have to make do without defenseman Nico Gurtner for approximately three months.
The 20-year-old defenseman, who signed a one-year contract with the Lakers in April, will have to undergo surgery due to complications in the recovery process from a forearm injury he suffered last season.
In other news, Dion Knelsen suffered a foot injury in the game against SC Langenthal and will miss the next couple of pre-season games. (mso)
