SC Bern had definitely not been expecting to look at the market again three days before the start of the season. However, Alex Chatelain does not plan to make a quick decision regarding a replacement for Kris Versteeg.

Asked by the Neue Zürcher Zeitung, what the plan is going forward, after the deal with Versteeg fell through due to him failing the medical tests, team manager Chatelain just has this to say: "We will not do a rush job."

Of course, the market is no longer as rich of players, as it has been when SC Bern signed Versteeg in mid-July. However, there are still plenty to choose from. According to the newspaper, one of the players offered to SC Bern is Linus Videll.

The 31-year-old forward last played for Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod in the KHL, scoring ten goals and 23 assists in 54 games for them. The Swede, who is a former draft pick by the Colorado Avalanche, spent most of his professional career in the SHL (314 games, 167 points) and the KHL (229 games, 127 points). (mso)
