Lausanne HC’s goaltender Cristobal Huet revealed to 24 Heures that he does not rule out playing professional hockey beyond the 2016-17 season. His contract with Lausanne, however, is expiring in spring.

“The only thing for certain is that I won’t continue my international career,” the 41-year old states. The next World Championship in Paris will indeed be his last one. Concerning his career on the national level, however, he does not want to rule out anything.

“It is too early,” the French-Swiss explains. And if everything went accordingly until Christmas, Huet could possibly extend his contract even before the last game of the season. The goaltender has been in Lausanne since the 2012-13 season when the Lions managed to win the League Qualification and moved to the NLA. (bsc)
