Sheehan arrived in the Ajoie in April of 2014. Last year, he clinched the NLB title as head coach of the Ajoulots and, thus, his contract was automatically extended until 2017. His new contract will now run through 2019. However, the 52-year-old Swiss-Canadian would be allowed to leave the team in 2018 if he received an offer from an NLA team.

Moreover, the Ajoulots have also extended the contract of defenseman and captain Jordane Hauert for two additional seasons until 2019. Hauert has played for HC Ajoie since his he was a junior player. Thus far, the 30-year-old defenseman has played 610 NLB games, scoring 72 goals and 285 assists. (bsc)
